As per the guidelines of LIC and UGC, an Anti-Ragging cell has been established by Seshadripuram Commerce College to maintain a cordial relationship between the students of the college.

Ragging is a criminal offence as per Karnataka educational act 1983 and Honorable Supreme Court of India.

Ragging means causing, inducing compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human dignity or violates his/her person or exposes him/her to ridicule from doing any lawful act. By intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining, or injuring him or by using criminal force on him/her or by holding out to him/her any threat of intimidation, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal force”.

Objectives of the cell:

  • Anti-ragging committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee on matters of planning action for building and preserving a culture of ragging free environment in the college campus.
  • To work out details for the implementation of the policy.
  • To prepare detailed plan of action.
  • To provide for the healthy development, physically and psychologically of all students.

As per the guidelines of LIC and UGC an anti- sexual harassment cell has been established by Seshadripuram Commerce College to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the staff and students of the college.

Objectives of the cell:

  • To develop the guidelines for a policy against sexual harassment.
  • To work out details for the implementation of the policy.
  • To prepare a detailed plan of action both short and long term.

The cell deals with the following issues:

  • Demand or request for sexual favor.
  • Eve–teasing.
  • Jokes causing embarrassment.
  • Gender based insults
  • Unwelcome sexual overtone in any manner such as over telephone.
  • Touching or brushing against any part of the body.

We have counseling cell for students in the college. Each faculty is given 30 students where they are counseled regarding their problems and also guided them in their studies and choosing their career.

Every beginning of the semester students are individually paid attention and students who are weak or finding it difficult in choosing the subject or career are given brief about the subject and the career where they can excel.

Objectives of the cell:

  • Students are expected to master the tools of professional research to aid them in their search for trustworthy answers to their questions.
  • Students are expected to construct their own ethically informed philosophical orientation to the helping process by utilizing the various theoretical, research, and practice resources available and articulating an ethical justification for the choices made.
  • Students are encouraged to take calculated risks in their search for creative and innovative solutions to human problems.
  • Students are expected to create new knowledge and model efficacious practices.
  • Students are expected to dedicate themselves to continuous personal and professional development through life-long learning.
